Budget Secretary Butch Abad confirmed that there would be no increase in salary for government workers in 2015.

This is his response on the question by ACT Teachers Party Reprensentative, Antonio Tinio if government is proposing for a salary increase in the 2015 budget.

According to him, they actually planned for this increase in salaries and some other benefits. However, it did not reach the allotted time. It was because of the recent calamities that had been encountered by the country.

But then, this will somehow push through by the time of 2016 budget which is also considered as an election year. In other words, they are not closing the possibility that it will happen sooner or later on the next years.

The government is giving a performance enhancement incentive of at least Php 5,000 to one-month salary according to Abad. This served as an addition to the regular performance based bonus.

However, if the salary increase will be justified, the government will be proposing another round of salary standardization for 2016 which is last done on 2012.

Actually, there are still no more confirmation that the salary increase will push through in 2016. Government workers don’t have any other option left but just to wait until it will come true.

Let’s just wait for the updates and for other information.
