Darren Espanto To Leave the Philippines Unless There’s An Offer

The runner-up of The Voice Kids Philippines, Darren Espanto will leave the country and return to Canada unless someone will offer projects to him after his failed bid to win the grand title of the recently concluded first season of The Voice Kids.

In an interview with Push, the 13-year-old Darren Espanto confirmed that he will surely go back to Canada right after his stint with The Voice Kids, unless and someone will offer projects here in the Philippines.

Darren Espanto was quoted as saying “Kung may offer I’ll have to stay here po,” he revealed. According to Darren although he failed to win the title, he still feels fortunate and very blessed with his accomplishment in the top-rating and Twitter-trending singing competition in the country.

The former finalist of “The Next Star” TV show in Canada, noted earlier in an interview at the backstage of Resorts World Manila Hotel, that he believed his toughest competitor in “The Voice Kids,” is no other than his fellow Team Sarah artist, Lyca Gairanod, who was declared as the grand winner of the competition.

On Darren’s intention to return to Canada, he noted that before he will leave, he will be doing shows alongside the other The Voice Kids contestants in the next few days. He was quoted as saying “Well meron po kaming mga shows and mga guestings,” he relayed.

Aside from being a certified singer at an early age, Darren Espanto also revealed that he also wants to try acting if the opportunity comes along the way. He noted that he wants to be an actor, even revealing to the media that he wants to star alongside his coach Sarah Geronimo.
