Bureau of Customs (BOC) Now Hiring, Announced Job Vacancy for 2014

The Bureau of Customs announced on Saturday, July 26, 2014 that the agency is currently in need of manpower to further improve its quality of service. The BOC made the vacancy and hiring announcement through the official website of the national government, the Official Gazette.

According to the Bureau of Customs announcement, a total of 1,056 job vacancies are now available in the agency. The job vacancies are available in first and second level positions for the agency’s various groups, offices, and collection districts across the country.

The BOC Commissioner John P. Sevilla was quoted as saying “By filling up these vacancies, we will be able to provide a faster and better standard of service for importers, exporters and the public dealing with Customs,” Commissioner Sevilla stated.

Some of the available job positions include: Customs Operations Officer (COPO) I, II, III, and IV, (Salary Grade [SG] 10, 11, 13, 16, and 18 respectively); and Administrative Officer (ADOF) I, II, III, IV, and V (SG 10, 11, 15, and 18 respectively).

The BOC also released the new guidelines in the hiring and selection of personnel under Customs Memorandum Order (CMO) 15-2014. The CMO also noted that they simplified the hiring and selection process that will enable Customs to choose the best qualified applicants.

All interested applicants are advised to visit the official website of the BOC, download the details and documents required for application, fill up the application form and submit togehter with the following supporting documents: Updated Personal Data Sheet; Certificate of Eligibility issued by the Civil Service Commission; Professional Regulation Commission, or Supreme Court as appropriate; Transcrip of Records and Diploma; Certificates of trainings and seminars attended, if any; and Performance Appraisal Report for the last two (2) ratings period for those who are already working in government offices.

The BOC noted further that the applicants must submit their applications either personally or by mail to the BOC Office located at 16th Street, Port Area South Harbor, Manila. Applications will be recieved from Monday to Friday at around 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM through a special booth to be set up at the lobby of the OCOM building.

    • The deadline of submission of applications this 2016 was on May 27. The updated list is still the Nov 2015 file. We have to wait for further announcements.
