PAGASA: Batanes Now Under Signal No. 2 of Bagyong Henry

The northernmost province of the Philippines, the Batanes Group of Islands is now under Signal No. 2, according to the latest weather bulletin released by PAGASA at around 6:00 PM on Monday, July 21, 2014.

According to PAGASA, Signal No. 2 is now hoisted in the Batanes Group of Islands, Cagayan, Babuyan Group of Islands, Calayan Group of Islands. At around 4:00 PM, the weather bureau noted that Bagyong Henry was located at 420 kilometers east of Aparri, Cagayan with peak winds of 130 kilometers per hour near the center and gusts of 160 kph.

Bagyong Henry is now moving northwest at a speed of 24 kph. The typhoon Henry will enhance the southwest monsoon (Habagat) and would bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms over Cagayan Valley, Calabarzon, Mimaropa, Bicol Region and Western Visayas.

Bagyong Henry is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility on Wednesday afternoon, July 23, 2014, typhoon Henry will then affect the southern portion of Taiwan.

Some areas in Southern Luzon already declared suspension of cl(–foul word(s) removed–) due to heavy rains and flooding in some areas of Laguna and Quezon Province. Due to Bagyong Henry most areas of Metro Manila and nearby provinces was affected by Habagat rains.
