San Mig vs. Rain or Shine Game 5 Preview (PBA Governors Cup Finals)

The Game 5 of the PBA Governors Cup Finals between the San Mig Coffee Mixers and the Rain or Shine Elasto Painters, will be held a few hours from now, July 9, 2014 at around 8:00 PM (PST). PBA supporters and fans of each respective team is more interested on San Mig’s Grand Slam bid, whether they will succeed at the expense of the determined Elasto Painters squad.

The Game 5 of the PBA Governors Cup 2014 will end tonight in an epic best-of-five series which will be held at the historic Smart Araneta Coliseum. San Mig Coffee will try to complete a Triple Crown sweep against Rain or Shine.

According to Rain or Shine Coach Yeng Guiao on Monday after their Game 4 victory, his team will not try to spoil San Mig’s grand slam ambitions. He was quoted as saying “We’re not trying to spoil their grand slam ambitions, but we have our own ambitions as well.” Coach Guiao stated.

Coach Tim Cone of San Mig Coffee, meanwhile, offered little excuses for the defeat other than they got their butts kicked, and his main focus right now is for his team to play the way they have been the whole season which according to Cone, San Mig played as a “team.”

The San Mig head coach, Tim Cone is also bidding to win his second Grand Slam 18 years after guiding his former Alaska to a phenomenal grand slam achievement.

A victory for San Mig Coffee Mixers will make the team as the fourth franchise in the history of the PBA to win the Triple Crown (Grand Slam) after Crispa scored with two, San Miguel Beer and Alaska with one grand slam achievement.
