The Philippine national government already released and signed the official Proclamation Orders declaring the new National Artists of the Philippines. Veteran singer and actress Nora Aunor failed to make it to the official list of national artist, she was reportedly part of the list submitted by the NCCA and the CCP.

The 61-year-old Nora Aunor was reportedly on the list submitted by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) and the Cultural Center of the Philippines (CCP). She was nominated as National Artists for Film.
In the official announcement released by Malacanang through the Official Gazette, or the official website of the Philippine National Government. The documents declaring the National Artists were released online on Friday, June 20, 2014.

- Alice Reyes: National Artist for Dance
- Francisco V. Coching: (posthumous) National Artist for Visual Arts
- Cirilo Bautista: National Artist for Literature
- Francisco F. Feliciano & Ramon Santos: National Artist for Music
- Jose Maria V. Zaragoza: (posthumous) National Artist for Architecture
According to the document released by Malacanang to the public the “1987 Constitution of the Republic of the Philippines provides for patronage of arts and letters by the State; the Order of National Artists Award was established under Proclamation No. 1001 (s.1972) to give appropriate recognition and prestige to Filipinos who have distinguished themselves and made outstanding contributions to Philippine arts and letters,” the documents stated.
