Direk Cathy Garcia-Molina, the director of the highly anticipated movie, “She’s Dating The Gangster” revealed during one of her interview that they made a twist with the popular book with the same title, so that the movie will cater not only to the young generation but also to mature audiences.
According to the director before they finalized the movie featuring he country’s Teen King and Queen, Daniel Padilla and Kathryn Bernardo, they would also like to think of the broadest market possible.
The movie “She’s Dating The Gangster” is adapted from the popular book with the same title written by Bianca Bernardino, the book is one of the country’s most popular and best-selling books nationwide for the past few years.
On the book’s adaptation to the big screen, Direk Cathy noted that before they started the shooting of the movie, they make sure that it will cater to all ages unlike to the book version, that only caters to younger generation.
Direk Cathy explained “Right now ‘yung kwento namin even if it’s an adaptation, inaayos pa namin kasi it cannot be exactly as that (book),” shares Direk Cathy. “Kasi iba ang market ng book na ‘yun e. Ang market n’ya ay pang-teens, e kapag pelikula hindi pwedeng teens lang ang ma-capture.” she said during an earlier interview.
The director of the movie “She’s Dating The Gangster” added further that “You have to capture the mothers, our core, the working class, e parang feel ko masyadong bagets ‘yung kaya ginagawan pa namin ng paraan para ma-cater natin lahat.” she said.
The movie is produced by Star Cinema, it will star its nationwide showing this coming July 16, 2014. The casts of the movie topbilled by Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla started their shooting after the finale of their hit TV series.
