The highly anticipated premier of The Voice Kids Philippines conquered the country’s top-trending topics on Saturday night. Jimboy Garcia performed the popular hit song “Faithfully” by Journey during the blind audition of The Voice Philippines.

Jimboy Garcia’s soaring voice immediately impressed coach Lea Salonga, who first turn her chair. Bamboo Manalac and Sarah Geronimo turned their chair and pressed their buttons as Jimboy Garcia approached the higher notes of the popular tune.

The Pop Star Princess Sarah Geronimo was the first one to attempt recruiting Jimboy Garcia to be with her team, she stated that she can relate to the boy being mentored by his father, as this was the Sarah’s case when she was young. Garcia’s father is a farmer, while his mother is a housewife.

Sarah Geronimo was quoted as saying “‘Yung boses mo, nandodoon ‘yung innocence, nandoon ‘yung maturity sa mga vibrato mo, so nakakatuwa! Espesyal ka, Jimboy!” Geronimo said.

Bamboo on his part advised Jimboy Garcia to pick a coach who can connect with, the rock icon mentioned that he is the only male coach this season. Bamboo turned serious and stated that the boy still has “room to grow,” and noted picking the right coach is important for his improvement.

At the end of Jimboy Garcia’s audition, he decided to join Team Lea as his mentor and coach in The Voice Philippines Kids Edition.
