The highly anticipated opening of the University Athletic Association of the Philippines (UAAP) Season 77 is set to kick off on July 12, 2014 topbill by De La Salle University and University of Santo Tomas.
La Salle Green Archers is expected to compete against its Season 76 rival, the University of Santo Tomas. DLSU was hailed as champion after outlasting the Growling Tigers on men’s basketball championship.
This year’s season will be hosted by University of the East which finished sixth in the over-all ranking of UAAP season 76. Red Warriors will face the University of the Philippines with eight universities competing for this season.
La Salle will also compete against FEU Tamaraws featuring a new and improve team introducing former cornerstones RR Garcia, Terrence Romeo, Mike Tolomia and Mac Belo. Meanwhile, Ateneo Blue Eagles is set to compete against its fierce rival La Salle on July 19 at the Big Dome.
UAAP Season 77 has yet to release the game schedules for volleyball. Ateneo Lady Eagles dominated on the game after outlasting four-time champion La Salle Lady Spikers.
The previous season named Terence Romeo as the Most Valuable Player of UAAP Men’s basketball while Jeron Teng was named as Final’s MVP.
