According to Prosecutor General Claro Arellano, Taguig MTC Branch 74 Judge Bernard Bernal issued the arrest warrants for identified suspects on the mauling of Vhong Navarro; Cedric Lee, Deniece Cornejo, Bernice Lee, Ferdinand Guerrero, Simeon Raz, Jose Paolo Calma, and Jed Fernandez.

In a statement issued by the Department of Justice (DOJ) last Thursday, April 10, 2014, the probable causes were established for grave coercion and serious illegal detention cases against the principal suspects.

Here’s the statement of the Department of Justice in a previous media interview:

“The respondents have no right to compel Navarro to admit a crime, nor had they a right to bring Navarro to the police station to admit the commission of a crime.”

“The vivid recollection of complainant Navarro of what occurred on 22 January 2014, from the time he entered the condominium unit of Cornejo up to the time he was brought out of the said place, clearly shows that Navarro was actually restrained or deprived of his liberty against his will.”

Meanwhile, Ferdinand Guerrero, one of the suspect on the case of Vhong Navarro earlier attempted to leave the country. However, the Bureau of Immigrations solicited the businessman to prohibit him from leaving the country whose supposed to bound for Hong Kong.
