Jodilly Pendre: Second Runner-up in Asia’s Next Top Model 2014

Filipina finalist Jodilly Pendre came short of the title as she finished as a runner-up in the second cycle of “Asia’s Next Top Model” after Malaysia’s Sheena Liam was declared as the winner of the competition beating out the two Filipinas who were runner-up in Asia’s edition of the world-renowned model search.

The 20-year-old Jodilly Pendre placed second in the competition created by renowned model Tyra Banks while fellow Filipina contestant Katarina Rodriguez placed third among 16 contestants from 12 countries and territories in the Asia-Pacific Region.

During the final challenge, the top three finalist, Sheena Liam, Jodilly Pendre, and Katarina Rodriguez had a photo shoot inspired by “kampong” or village life in Malaysia. The second season of ANTM was also held in Malaysia. The three finalists took the runway in designs by Jonathan Liang, Ghea Panggaban, and Albert Andrada.

The finale’s judges includes host Nadya Hutagalung, model Joey Mead King, photographer Mike Rosenthal, and movement coach Adam Williams. The regular judges were joined by Harber’s Bazaar creative director Goh and Asian supermodel Ling Tan.

When the announcement of winner in this year’s ANTM, was revealed to the public, second runner-up Jodilly Pendre was so emotional and broke down in tears dedicating her journey to her mother. Katarina Rodriguez on her part considered her top-three finish as an accomplishment, saying that she never thought she would reach the end of the competition.
