Davao: 2,000 Families Affected After 6-Hour Incident of Fire

At least 2,000 families were affected with 1,000 houses  set a blaze after an incident of fire rage among four barangays (towns) in Davao City on Friday, April 4, 2014 at around 8:30 p.m.

According to the authorities, the fire which rotten many properties started in Purok 4, Isla Verde, Davao City where native Bajaos are situated. The fire incident began at around 8:30 p.m. which last for about six hours. The local official declared fire out at exactly 2:00 a.m.

Among the recorded fatalities on the fire incident were 18 pet pig of one of the residents and 30 chickens on the other town which were not able to survive the unprecedented incident.

Meanwhile, the residents of Purok 4 where the fire started, immediately evacuated after the fire set a blaze. Some of the residents submerge under water to survive from the raging fire which immediately destroyed the town.

Based on the report of Bombo Radyo Philippines, the authorities are still configuring the condition of two kids who were trapped inside their house.

Reports earlier surfaced that the fire which devastated at least four barangays in Davao was intentional. However, the local government has yet to confirm the cause of the incident.

The victims are currently being housed at various schools and gym of other towns which were not affected by the incident of fire. The authorities has yet to issue a statement regarding the total number of fatalities as the investigation is ongoing.
