Ex-PBA Player Bryan Gahol Dies in a Car Accident at SLEX

Former PBA player Bryan Gahol was pronounced dead after he was involved in a multiple vehicle collision at the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX). Gahol and a woman companion were the two fatalities of the tragic incident.

The former Alaska Aces forward was driving the Nissan Urvan Escapade when they were hit by a cargo jeep carrying vegetables. According to the driver of the jeep, he lost control of the delivery jeep after he was first hit by the third vehicle, a trailer truck.

The accident happened at around 10 PM on Monday night, March 31, 2014 at the northbound lane of the SLEX near the Alabang exit.

During the incident, Bryan Gahol’s van had lost control causing it to overturn along the highway before it was hit by another vehicle.

Police investigators noted further that, Bryan Gahol and his friends came from Laguna and they were on their way to Quezon City to attend a wake when the accident happened.

Bryan Gahol’s other companions survived the fatal incident. The cargo jeep that bumped the trailer truck came from San Jose, Occidental Mindoro carrying 11 p(–foul word(s) removed–)engers and two of them were injured.

The drivers of the trailer truck and the cargo jeep are now under the custody of the Highway Patrol Group. The accident involving Bryan Gahol caused heavy traffic along SLEX near Southwoods in Laguna.

The 36-year-old Bryan Gahol was considered as one of the most popular player during his college days playing for the University of the Philippines but he failed to make a huge mark in the PBA. He played for Mobiline, Barako Bull, San Miguel Beer Alaska Aces in the PBA.
