Both coaches, Yeng Guiao of Rain or Shine and San Mig’s Tim Cone agree that Game 3 is very important for both squad. A win is vital for the series which is now down to just Game 5 after both teams secured a 1-win 1-loss record.

During the previous encounters of the two squad, Rain or Shine took the 2-1 lead in the 2012 Governors Cup Finals and the 2012-2013 Philippine Cup semi-final duel and eventually won both series.

In this year’s All-Filipino Cup Finals, the Elasto Painters snatched a thrilling 80-83 win in Game 1 opener last Friday but the San Mig Coffee Mixers bounced back with an impressive 80-70 victory on Sunday and even the series at 1-all.

According to PBA’s history, teams who won Game 3 after a 1-1 tie went on to win the best-of-seven duel 62% of the time.
