Roy Alvarez Dies at 63 Due to Cardiac Arrest

Veteran character actor Roy Alvarez died on Tuesday at the age of 63 due to cardiac arrest. The veteran actor Roy Alvarez is also known in the entertainment industry as a director, and scriptwriter for movies, television shows and theaters.

The current Kapuso star who stars in the top-rating afternoon series Villa Quintana was also a prominent figure in ABS-CBN shows such as “Juanita Banana” in 2010 and “Guns N’ Roses” during the year 2011.

Two of the co-stars of Roy Alvarez namely Maricar de Mesa and Gina Alajar broke the news on their official Twitter account on Tuesday night as they expressed their condolences to the family of Alvarez. 

The actor left his wife, Nieves Campa-Alvarez and daughter, Miren Alvarez who also confirmed the news to major TV stations in the country.

Roy Alvarez is one of the cast of the ongoing afternoon soap of GMA, titled Villa Quintana featuring Elmo Magalona and Janine Gutierrez. He also made an appearance on the top-rating primetime series “My Husband’s Lover” as the father of Kempee de Leon.

Aside from being an actor, Roy Alvarez is also known in the various environmental groups as an environmentalist. He was able to travel different parts of the Philippines to promulgate his advocacy of caring for our natural resources.
