Rumors spread online that businessman Cedric Lee will replace his lawyer after Atty. Raymond Fortun posted some status updates on his official Facebook page regarding the issue involving Cedric Lee.

In an exclusive interview with Pep.Ph, Atty. Fortun noted that his role is merely to speak on Cedric Lee’s behalf before the media. He was quoted as saying “My job is merely to speak on [Cedric’s] behalf before the media.” he said.

The high-profile lawyer added further that “This is something I am familiar with, having (–foul word(s) removed–)umed this position in other high-profile cases in the past.” he said and noted further that “The defences/arguments in court will be left to his current counsels.”

The alleged suspect on Vhong Navarro’s case, Cedric Lee is represented on court by his current legal counsel, Atty. Howard Calleja and Atty. Maria Concepcion Aquino.

Atty. Fortun admitted during the interview that he has no connection with Cedric Lee before the incident happened last January 22, 2014 but according to the lawyer he is aware with Cedric Lee’s situation and he is updated with the news involving his new client.

According to Atty. Fortun, Cedric Lee just contacted him last February 2, asking about his interest in being part of his legal team. Atty. Fortun was quoted responding “I said I was okay with it, especially after what I felt was a highly questionable interview of a psychologist by a media network.” Fortun said.

Atty. Fortun then clarified that on February 5, 2014, Cedric Lee called him up and informed him that he had made up his mind about the lawyer’s engagement as a “spokesman” only and “NOT” as a lawyer, so Atty. Fortun agreed.
