Katy Perry Twitter Followers Reaches 50 Million

International pop star Katy Perry made history in micro-blogging site Twitter as she reaches the 50 Million Twitter followers, the first person to reach such achievement.

 The 29-year-old Katy Perry become the first person to reach the 50 million Twitter follower milestones in the history of social media. The numbers were validated by Twitter Counter, a service for tracking Twitter usage.

According to Twitter counter, Katy Perry whose real name is Katheryn Elizabeth “Katy” Hudson had picked up tens of thousands of followers since Thursday, as she roared her way to 50,025,667 Twitter followers.

The singer of the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart this week, Katy Perry, did not gave any statement regarding her achievement online on Friday. Katy Perry just tweeted thanks to Madonna for having invited her to curate the pop diva’s Art for Freedom human rights project during the month of January.

Based upon Twitter followers record, teen idol Justin Bieber was previously dubbed as the most followed Twitter user after he dethroned Lady Gaga last January 2013 but since then both artists were toppled in the top spot as Katy Perry dominates Twitter since November 2013.

As of Friday, Justin Bieber has a total of 49,230,470 Twitter followers, he was followed by the United States President Barrack Obama who has 42,219,748 followers on micro-blogging site Twitter.

The former No. 1 most followed Twitter user, Lady Gaga is currently on Fourth spot with a total of 41,025,492 followers on Twitter. She was also the first to claim 20 million followers just under two years ago.

Lady Gaga, in fourth place with 41,025,492 followers, made Twitter history when she became the first to claim 20 million followers—just under two years ago, in March 2012.
