NAIA 1 Porter Jony Villon Returns $4,800 (P210,000) to OFW

Jony Villon, a baggage porter at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 (NAIA 1) returned  $4,800 or over P210,000 to an overseas Filipino worker (OFW) named Cristina Alcaraz Rosal on Wednesday, January 29, 2014.

Jony Villon, who worked at the NAIA 1 for three years found a transparent envelope accompanied in a baggage cart and without hesitation he informed his superiors upon retrieving the envelope and reported the item on the airport’s lost and found section.

Enclosed with the transparent envelope is $4,800 or more than P210,000 in cash which is  Jony Villon eventually returned to its owner, Cristina Alcaraz Rosal who was escorted by a certain Jayvee Estorgo who made a report on the airport’s official regarding the lost valuable.

And as a standard operating procedure, the authorities form NAIA Terminal 1 counted the amount in front of OFW Cristina Alcaraz Rosal placed inside the transparent envelope wherein it contains  48 pieces of $100 bills.

Jony Villon who worked at the NAIA 1 for almost three years already did not recognize hesitant for the exemplary honesty he manifested at the airport. The push cart porter earns P12,000 a month.

Jony Villon who also worked as an OFW in Israel said, “Alam ko po ang hirap ng isang OFW, kung kaya hindi ko naisip na ibulsa yung napulot ko.”

Meanwhile, Christina Alcaraz Rosal stressed that she was very thankful for Jony Villon for his “exemplary honesty” despite of financial needs.
