Boxing Writers (–foul word(s) removed–)ociation of America named the undefeated Mayweather as the 2013 Fighter of the Year after two successful fights, a unanimous decision over Robert Guerrero in May, and a majority decision victory against Saul Alvarez last September.

“It is a great honor to be voted by the BWAA as fighter of the year. To be recognized by this organization is special and I truly appreciate it,” Mayweather said.

His advisor Al Haymon also received an award as the Manager of the Year.

The 36-year-old American boxer continues to make headlines in the boxing world after he refused to fight one of his most able opponent, the Pinoy boxing icon and Mexican terminator, Manny Pacquiao for the past few years.

The boxing world anticipates the Pacquiao vs. Mayweather match as the most anticipated boxing extravaganza if it will push through in the next few months.

Meanwhile, the Timothy Bradley-Ruslan Provodnikov fight for the WBO Welterweight championship held last March 16 outstanded all fights as it was praised as the Fight of the Year, which Bradley won.
