The National Capital Region or Metro Manila recorded the coldest temperature at around 16.9 degrees Celsius on Saturday morning, January 25, 2014.

The dropped in temperature is the lowest since the year 2014 started as confirmed by the Philippine weather bureau PAGASA on Saturday.
PAGASA stated that the coldest temperature in Metro Manila was recorded at 6:20 AM at Science Garden Complex in Quezon City, the location of the PAGASA main office at Agham Road, Diliman, Quezon City.
According to Project Noah executive director Dr. Mahar Lagmay, other areas that experienced a huge temperature drop is located in Department of Science and Technology (DOST) – Bicutan, the temperature was recorded at 18.3 degrees.
In an interview with ABS-CBN’s dzMM, weather forecaster Glaiza Escullar stated that the county will continue to experience cool weather until the second week of March, 2014.
PAGASA explained that the chilly weather experienced by Filipinos is due to the presence of the Northeast Moonsoon or “Amihan.”
