Classes suspended for this day, January 20, in some parts of Mindanao as Tropical Depression Agaton hits the region.
The Department of Education decided to let the students to stay at home as heavy rains expected to fall brought by Agaton.
The areas affected in the said suspension include Butuan City – All levels, including college, as announced by the Butuan City government, as well as the work in all government and private offices, including banks, also suspended.
Aside from Butuan City, Agusan del Norte also suspends classes in all levels, Compostela Valley – All levels, Tandag City – All levels, Dinagat Islands – All levels and work in government offices also suspended, Cantilan, Surigao del Sur – All levels, Lanuza, Surigao del Sur – All levels
Lingig, Surigao del Sur – All levels, Davao City – All levels.
DepEd has no announcement for Tuesday, January 21, 2014 classes.
