Classes are already suspended in all levels in Compostela Valley and Bayabas, Surigao del Sur due to heavy rains and flooding caused by the Low Pressure Area (Agaton).

According to the Philippine Information Agency (PIA), Surigao del Sur Governor Johnny Pimentel declared the suspension of work in the provincial government on Monday, January 13, 2014 due to the inclement weather, except offices involved in search and rescue operations.

PAGASA reported earlier that the Low Pressure Area (LPA) was spotted in the vicinity of Surigao del Sur at around 4:00 AM today, January 13. The LPA brought heavy rains to Mindanao.

The Mindanao and Eastern Visayas areas will experience cloudy skies with moderate to heavy rains and thunderstorms which may trigger flash floods and landslides.
