Philippine National Holidays 2014 Features Long Weekends

The Philippine government have already issued the official list of National Holidays for the Year 2014 based upon President Aquino’s Proclamation No. 655, which enumerates the holidays of 2014.

The Philippine Government announced the long weekend breaks for some of the official National Holidays based upon Proclamation No. 655, the proclamation was released last September 2013, through the official website of the government.

National Holiday 2014

The long weekend of the 2014 national holidays will start with the celebration of the Chinese New Year this coming January 31, 2014 which was already declared as a special non-working holiday nationwide, the day falls on Friday.

The Holy Week Break for 2014 will also begin on April 17, Maunday Thursday, until April 19, Black Saturday. Aside from the two mentioned long weekends, another long weekend is slated for National Heroes Day in August 25, which falls on Monday.

The Christmas Holiday for the Year 2014 also got longer with December 24 and 26 declared as Special Non-Working Days based upon Proclamation No. 655.

The regular holidays for 2014 are: 

Special non-working days

  • Chinese New Year – January 31 (Friday)
  • Black Saturday – April 19
  • Ninoy Aquino Day – August 21 (Thursday)
  • All Saints Day – November 1 (Saturday)
  • Additional special non working days – December 24 (Wednesday) and December 26 (Friday)
  • Last Day of the Year – December 31 (Wednesday)

Special Holiday for all schools:

  • EDSA Revolution Anniversary – February 25 (Tuesday)
