La Salle vs. Adamson UAAP 76 Women’s Volleyball Opening Results

The De La Salle University Lady Archers will start this year’s UAAP Women’s Volleyball tournament on their drive for a fourth consecutive UAAP Women’s Volleyball title as they will go up against this year’s host, the Adamson University Lady Falcons on Sunday at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

The Ateneo Lady Eagles will be featured in the grand opening of the UAAP Women’s Volleyball as they will clash with the National University Lady Bulldogs at around 2:00 PM in opening day.

Aside from the highly-anticipated opening ceremony of the UAAP Women’s Volleyball tournament, the UAAP-led by Season 76 President Fr. Max Rendon, CM, and secretary-treasurer of host Adamson University – will turn over its donation for the victims of super typhoon “Yolanda” to ABS-CBN’s Sagip Kapamilya.

The UAAP Season 76 Volleyball Tournament will open as early as 11:00 AM with NU Men’s Volleyball Team clashing with the De La Salle Men’s Volleyball Team. The FEU will go up against Adamson University in the Men’s Volleyball at around 6:00 PM.

Some of the most notable volleyball players that will be showcasing their talents during the opening game of the UAAP Volleyball Tournament are the following, Sheila Pineda, Amanda Villanueva, Faye Guevara, May Macatuno, Princess Listana, and Mylene Paat for the Adamson, the third placer last season.

Notable players for the depending champion La Salle are last season’s co-MVP’s Abi Maraño and Ara Galang and the towering Mika Reyes, Cyd Demecillo and Kim Fajardo, plus the entry of rookies Desiree Cheng and Kim Dy.

The Lady Eagles will also feature Team captain Alyssa Valdez, Marge Tejada, Ella de Jesus and Denden Lazaro, together with returning Aerieal Patnongon, newcomers Kim Gequillana, Julia Morado, Michelle Morente and Ana Gopico.

The Lady Bulldogs will feature the “twin towers” in sisters Dindin and Jaja Santiago to boost their frontline. Last season’s top rookie, Aiko Urdas, and Mina Aganon are also expected to power NU. Together with Myla Pablo, and Bea General, the NU Lady Bulldogs is also a strong contender for the title.
