A controversial video posted by popular Filipino YouTube sensation Jamich, asking for views in exchange of their donations to typhoon Yolanda have already reached more than 100,000 views since it was posted on November 12, 2013.

The video of real life couple Jamvhille Sebastian and Michelle Liggayu (aka Jamich) has turned viral and became controversial among netizens. The Jamich video is a cover of the song “Still” as popularized by Christian band, Hillsong United.
According to the description made by Jamich in the later part of the video, they flashed a message saying, “For every 10,000 views of this video we will donate 1,000 pesos to Yolanda victims.”
The viral video got the ire of netizens who commented that there is a negative impression on their efforts to help Yolanda victims. Most of the comments of the viral Jamich video aren’t friendly, one of them even called the YouTube sensation as “selfish.”
As of posting time, the video have already reached more than 115,000 views and counting, based upon their promise they will donate 1,000 for every 10,000 views, meaning Jamich will have to donate 11,000 to the victims of typhoon Yolanda.
Due to some negative comments of the video Jamich posted the following descriptions of their video:
FYI: Kahit maging 1 billion views pa yung video, hindi kami kikita dito kasi hindi ito naka monetized kasi copyrighted yung song. So wala po kaming kikitain dito kahit singkong duling hehe! 😉

Hindi naman sa pagmamayabang pero meron po kaming 60M total views on YouTube. I don’t think na makakatulong yung sinasabi niyong “popularity” sa 10,000 views. Hindi yun ang habol namin. We have hundreds of thousands of followers. Imagine kung maiinspire namin sila para tumulong, may mangyayari na rin nun kahit papano 🙂
