Typhoon Relief Effort “Free Hugs for Philippines” Video Goes Viral

Philippines is so grateful and thankful that there are a lot of countries supporting the typhoon Yolanda/Haiyan victims who give such efforts to lend help.

As of November 17, 2013 an uploaded video for “Philippine Typhoon Relief Hugs” went viral in YouTube as well as in other social media sites including Facebook and Twitter which gathered a lot of views.

Super typhoon with the international name Haiyan (Yolanda) entered the Philippine Area of Responsibility specifically in some part of Visayas, take the lives of many people and also destroyed some of the vital infrastructures and agriculture last November 8.

The video was captioned:

“As many of you may know, a typhoon recently hit the Philippines, taking the lives of thousands of innocent people. We wanted to help with the Philippines Typhoon Relief as well as spread awareness about it. So we decided to stand on the streets of San Francisco for 1 hour and for every hug that we got, we would donate $1 (we ended up making it $5) in hopes that it would spread more awareness about the relief effort. Along the way, we also received donations from huggers tallying the total donation to $335.”

Right after the video was uploaded, in just four days their initiative to help Philippines goes viral in social media sites and until now thousands of viewers which is 36,138 appreciate what they’ve done in the said country melting the heart of some netizens.
