Miss World 2013 Megan Young Lead Charity Event in US for Typhoon Victims

The reigning Miss World 2013 Megan Young will be leading a charity events in the United States next week for the benefit of typhoon victims in the Philippines and promised to personally deliver the proceeds to those affected by the worst typhoon that hits the country.

The announcement of the charity event was made through the official website of the Miss Universe Organization. Here’s part of the statement of Miss World Organization.

“The Miss World charity, Beauty With A Purpose, has made the decision to direct all of its fundraising efforts into supporting the people of the Philippines,” the news release said. “The newly crowned Miss World, Megan Young, who is from the Philippines, will be attending fundraising events in the United States next week to raise as much money as possible to help her fellow Filipinos.”

The 23-year-old Megan Young will join the Consul General of the Philippine Consulate in New York, the Hon. Mario Lopez de Leon Jr. who will be hosting a special evening with Miss World for prominent members of the Filipino community in New York state on Nov. 19 (US Time).

On November 20, 2013, Megan Young will attend an event at the Double Tree by Hilton I in Newark, New Jersey. The event was originally planned as a reception dinner celebrating the coronation of the Philippines first ever Miss World, the event will focus on the fundraising powers of the Miss World Organization.

Megan Young will also head to Los Angeles for a fundraising dinner at the Beverly Hills Country Club hosted by the Philippine consul general in LA, Maria Hellen Barber-de la Vega. The Miss World 2013 will then travel back to Manila on November 27, 2013.
