As of November 17 Sunday, people all over the world can now donate to the Philippines relief effort directly from the notification at the top of Facebook News Feed.

This launching made netizens grateful and thankful that Facebook made it possible to activate this feature in order support the m(–foul word(s) removed–)ive global response effort following the impact of Typhoon Haiyan/Yolanda on the Philippines this past week.

How to donate:

If you visit your Facebook News Feed, you will see a notification like this at the top of the screen.

Clicking on Donate P200.00 will show you payment options where you can either pay via PayPal or via credit or debit card.

The Philippine Red Cross has been leading this response effort, aiding with search and rescue immediately after the disaster.

Philippine Red Cross also provides shelter, food, water and has been distributing relief supplies, however this has truly been a global response effort.

Specialized emergency response teams from Red Cross societies across the globe are moving into the affected area to (–foul word(s) removed–)ist. These include teams with expertise in logistics, disaster (–foul word(s) removed–)sment, shelter, health, water and sanitation.

Meanwhile, gathered funds through Facebook will support the Red Cross in response to the typhoon.
