Emir of Kuwait Donates $10 Million for Typhoon Yolanda Victims

His Highness, the Amir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, has contributed $10 million donations for the thousands of victims affected by the worst typhoon that hits the Philippines last week, Typhoon Yolanda that devastated various provinces in central Philippines.

The director of the Disaster Management & Emergency of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society, Yousel Al Merag, confirmed the contribution and he was quoted as saying, “We very happy when we heard from his Highness, the Amir, about the $10 million donation to the affected people in the Philippines and we are making plan with our boss Barges Al-Barges to send Inshaallah to the Philippines soon,” he said.

Aside from the contribution of his Highness, the Amir of Kuwait, also extended his sympathies to those who have been greatly affected by the typhoon. The Kuwait’s Red Crescent Society met with the Philippine Amb(–foul word(s) removed–)ador to Kuwait Lamberto Monsato to discuss other possible (–foul word(s) removed–)istance that they could extend to the typhoon victims.

The Red Crescent Society also set up help desk to provide (–foul word(s) removed–)istance to overseas Filipino workers who are anxious to look for relatives in the typhoon-hit areas the Visayas region. The international humanitarian group have activated the Family Links Program which operates from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM.

Filipinos in Kuwait can go to the Kuwait Red Crescent Society in and fill out forms for inquiries about missing persons and families in the Philippines affected by typhoon Yolanda. The Red Crescent Society continue to cooperate with the Philippine Emb(–foul word(s) removed–)y in Kuwait, the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation in Kuwait and the Philippine National Red Cross.
