Standing 5’6 in height, Vietnamese beauty pageant titleholder who was appointed as Miss Universe Vietnam 2013 Truong Thi May, will represent her country at the Miss Universe 2013 pageant in Crocus City Hall Moscow, Russia on November 9.
Truong Thi May was raised in Mekong Delta province of An Giang, where much of Vietnam’s Khmer population lives. 25-year-old May has been practicing austere Buddhism and following a strict vegetarian diet since she was 13.
As part of her current career, May worked as model and actress and she is also a charity amb(–foul word(s) removed–)ador for a heart transplant charity that serves underprivileged children.
Truong enjoys traveling, dancing and boxing and she dreams of one day becoming an international actress and opening her own store for vegetarians.
Truong Thi May believe “Since my father died at a young age, my mom had to take care of all the children. She gave up so much for us and I want to be able to give back in any way I can.”
