The Philippine Basketball Association, Asia’s oldest and first professional pay-for-play basketball competition will open the the 2014 season this coming November 17, 2013 in Metro Manila, Cebu and Davao.
For the very first time in PBA’s history, the league inauguration will be held outside of Metro Manila and in three different venues nationwide. The 39th Season of the PBA will be formally opened by incoming Board Chairman Ramon Segismundo of Meralco at around 2:00 PM tentative schedule.
According to the PBA’s set-up for the 2014 season there will be six teams that will parade at the Araneta Coliseum, two teams in Cebu City and the other two teams will be in Davao City.
The Philippine Cup 2014 Games schedule will follow at around 3:00 PM at the Smart Araneta Coliseum, the next game will be at around 5:00 PM in Davao City and at around 7:00 PM the third game will be held in Cebu City.
Here’s the schedule of the PBA Games of the 39th Season Opening Ceremony:
- 2:00PM Opening Ceremony/Parade of Teams and Muses
- 3:00PM Ginebra vs San Mig Coffee at Smart Araneta Coliseum
- 7:30PM Alaska vs Rain or Shine at Panabo, Davao (live telecast)
- 7:30PM Talk ‘N Text vs Meralco at Cebu City (delayed telecast)
The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) will also select from a deep pool of talented rookies in the PBA Draft scheduled on November 3, 2013. The complete line-up of each team will be posted here also as soon as the PBA will release the final roster.
The rest of the 39th PBA Season Schedule will be added here as soon as available. The 2014 Season of the PBA will end as early as August 2014 to give way to Gilas Pilipinas preparations for the next year’s World Basketball Championship in Spain.
