Moe Set Wine: Myanmar’s Representative for Miss Universe 2013

Miss Moe Set Wine is the representative of Myanmar in the world’s prestigious beauty pageant, the Miss Universe 2013 in Moscow, Russia. The 0nce-isolated country sends its first contestant after half a century of absence.

The 25-year-old Moe Set Wine is a student of business and marketing in the United States, she was chosen and picked among the 20 other contenders to represent her country in the Miss Universe in Moscow which will be having its culmination night on November 9, 2013.

The Southeast Asian country Myanmar was formerly known as Burma, they sent their first representative to the Miss Universe way back the year 1959, but they stopped in 1962 under the rule of the late dictator Gen. Ne Win, who imposed a socialist government on an already conservative Buddhist society.

The newest government that took power in 2011 made some reforms in the country, during the Miss Universe Myanmar coronation night, the event was broadcast live by a private satellite TV operator, the private participation in social media is one of the reforms instituted by the elected government.

Miss Myanmar’s Moe Set Wine grew up in Yangon, Myanmar, and went on to study at California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks, California. She worked as a marketing and business (–foul word(s) removed–)ociate in the US.

Moe Set Wine stands at five foot and nine inches tall, according to Moe she entered the Miss Universe pageant for the prize or the cameras but to represent her country in the world stage.
