San Mig Coffee Defeated Petron 114-103 in Game 5 of PBA Finals

The San Mig Coffee Mixers defeated the Petron Blaze Boosters in Game 5 on Sunday night with the final score at 114-103 as they ook a 3-2 advantage en-route to the title of the PBA Governors Cup Finals.

The Coffee Mixers is now one win away from the PLDT Telpad Governors Cup crown, the last PBA Conference before the professional basketball league will enjoy their Christmas vacation.

San Mig Coffee fell behind by 12 points in the second quarter of Game 5 but due to the impressive performance of point guard Mark Barroca, they were able to convert on crucial baskets with the help of Best Import awardee Marqus Blakely who powered the Mixers in the second and third periods.

Mark Barroca was the most prolific local players in Game 5 of the Governors Cup as he was able to produce a total of 22 points and 10 (–foul word(s) removed–)ists aside from his awesome defensive stops against Petron import Elijah Millsap who manned the point guard position for the Blazers.

San Mig import Marqus Blakely scored with 30 points, 15 rebounds and seven (–foul word(s) removed–)ists in 48 minutes of play. Aside from Barroca, the Mixers got some offensive powers from Peter June Simon who scored with 17 points while James Yap added with 14 points, Yancy de Ocampo scored with 10 points and Marc Pingris added with nine points and 10 rebounds.

The Petron Blaze Boosters was led by Elijah Millsap with 37 points and 14 rebounds while Cebuano rookie June Mar Fajardo continued his dominance inside by adding 23 points and controlling 16 boards.

The Game Six of the PBA Governors Cup Finals will be held this coming Wednesday, October 23, 2013. San Mig Coffee Mixers is just one game away for the title.
