The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) released the Top 500 Individual Taxpayers list of 2012 on Monday, October 14, 2012. Celebrity host and actress is no longer the top highest individual taxpayers as she was dethroned by Vivian Que-Azcona.
The owner of the largest drugstore chain in the country, Mercury Drug is the Philippines’ top individual taxpayer with a total of 131.4 million. Azcona is also the 19th richest in the country according to Forbes Magazine.
The controversial TV host of TV5’s defunct noontime show, Willie Revillame ranked second among the top individual taxpayers of 2012 and tops the list of celebrities who were included in the list of Top 500 individual taxpayers.
The Philippines richest tycoon Henry Sy ranked at 74th place with a total of P16.4 million in income taxes while the second richest man in the Philippines tobacco magnate Lucio Tan paid a total of P12 million in income taxes, landing him in 138th place.
