The Game One of the San Mig Coffee vs. Petron Blaze Boosters will start on Friday, October 11, the live telecast will be aired on TV5 at around 8:00 PM. The Blaze Boosters are hoping to regain their Governor’s Cup title which they won in 2011 while the Coffee Mixers will try to avenge their loss in the finals of the Governors Cup last year.

The Governors’ Cup 2013 finalists are lead by versatile imports who are also top contender in the much-coveted Bobby Parks Trophy for Best Import. Marqus Blakely played an important role for the Mixers while Elijah Millsap provided firepower not only in the offensive end but also defensively.

San Mig Coffee will rely on the leadership of Gilas star forward Marc Pingris and former PBA MVP James Yap. The two All-Star players made a huge contribution during San Mig’s conquest of the Meralco Bolts during the semifinals.

The Petron Blazers were positive on their title chances as Arwind Santos and Alex Cabagnot lead the star-studded line-up of Petron featuring the most promising rookie in the PBA, Gilas center June Mar Fajardo. He is considered as one of the toughest players down low controlling the boards for the Boosters.

In terms of experience, the Mixers had the edge over newcomer coach Gee Abanilla of the Petron Blaze Boosters. Coach Tim Cone is eyeing to tie the all-time record of PBA coach Baby Dalupan who had a total of 15 title on his name. Abanilla will also try to enter into the PBA record book as one of the few coaches who earned a title during his first conference on the PBA.
