MV Paradise Island: Biggest Ship Made in Cebu, Philippines Inaugurated

The biggest ship ever manufactured in the Philippines was already launched by Southeast Asia’s biggest shipbuilding company, Tsuneishi, Cebu on October 9, 2013. The bulk carrier was named as MV Paradise Island was already delivered to its owners, the ship was built from the town of Balamban, Cebu, the shipbuilding capital of the Philippines.

According to Tsuneishi Heavy Industries (Cebu), Inc. (THICI) the launching ceremonies was held at the Tsuneishi Factory. THICI is one of the leading medium sized shipbuilders in the world.

The company have been in the shipbuilding business, ship repair and manufacturing of outfittings for ships and vessels which constitutes the main business of the company.

The MV Paradise Island is considered as the largest bulk carrier ship built in the Philippines with 58,000 dead-weight metric ton. The launching of the ship was open to the public who witnessed the significant events in the country’s shipbuilding industry.

Aside from the MV Paradise Island being launched by Tsuneishi, the company also launched another 58,000 dead-weight metric ton vessel yesterday, October 10, 2013. The newest launched ship was named as “MV Mika Manx,” which already sailed to Indonesia and delivered to its owner that will use the ship for coal transporting.
