For the Game 2 of the the UAAP Finals, UST wanted to make a history as the first ever number 4 seed team to win the championship. UST entered the finals by defeating twice the former number 1 team, NU Bulldogs during the Final Four semi-final matches.

Meanwhile the Green Archers wanted to rebound from their previous lost against the UST Tigers. Based upon UAAP’s history, only four teams in the Final Four who have recovered from a game one loss and won the crown in three games.

One of the team who made that fate was coincidentally, the La Salle Green Archers who defeated the UST Tigers during the 1999 UAAP Finals. A repeat is possible for La Salle but UST is determined to secure their first championship since the time that Ateneo dominated the UAAP five years in-a-row.

The UST Growling Tigers vs. the La Salle Green Archers game will start at around 3:30 PM, October 5, 2013 at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
