FIBA America Results: Dominican Rep., Argentina, Mexico and Puerto Rico for FIBA World Cup

The Dominican Republic, Argentina and Mexico joined Puerto Rico in qualifying for the 2014 FIBA Basketball World Cup to be held in Spain. The four teams got the best records in FIBA Americas during the second round of the competition.

The 2013 FIBA Americas Championship is currently held in Caracas, Venezuela. The Top four teams will battle for the title, with Argentina taking on Mexico, and Puerto Rico facing the Dominican Republic.

During the Sunday’s game, the last day of the Second Round, the Dominican Republic worked hard to beat Uruguay with 81-72 victory and claim the second qualifying ticket for Spain 2014. The first ticket was also secured by Puerto Rico on Saturday.

Argentina was able to eliminate the talented Canadian team, bannered by six NBA players, when they defeated the Canadians with the final score at 73-67 and secured a slot in the FIBA World Cup 2014.
