San Mig Coffee Mixers Marc Pingris was involved with a fist fight against Kelly Nabong during the GlobalPort vs. San Mig Coffee Governors Cup game on Wednesday September 4, 2013. The commotion was captured on video and posted on various sites.

According to Marc Pingris who justified his action by stating that, “Mahal ko mga teammates kaya ayoko silang masaktan.” This is the justification made by Gilas Pilipinas mainstay March Pingris.
Marc Pingris was through out of the game after figuring in a scuffle with GlobalPort center Kelly Nabong in the highly-physical encounter. According to Pingris Kelly Nabong was there with the intention to get into a fight.
The problem started when Marvin Hayes and San Mig import Marqus Blakely got entangled and went down the floor. Devance came to the aid of the import by slightly pushing Hayes, who flopped to sell a call.
Kelly Nabong then came out of nowhere and pushed Devance, who fell hard, Pingris retaliated trying to punch Nabong, who tried to knee the San Mig and Gilas Pilipinas forward.
