Million People March to Push Through Despite Pork Barrel Abolition

The Million People March to be held in Luneta and in major cities in the Philippines will push through on Monday, August 26, despite the announcement of President Aquino’s abolition of the Priority Development (–foul word(s) removed–)istance Fund (PDAF) or more popularly known as the Pork Barrel Fund.

Most Filipino netizens were caught off guard by the President’s sudden turnabout on the pork barrel issue, the statement on its abolition drew suspicion among netizens who started the Million People March on Facebook, but the organizers were as determined to push through with the march.

The Million People March group has also started with its own, “selfie protest campaign,” by encouraging netizens to come up with their own personal protest photos to be posted on various social media group such as Facebook, Twitter, GooglePlus and Instagram to name a few.

According to the organizers of the Million People March and various gatherings in major cities nationwide, their protest actions are “off-limits” to politicians who enjoyed their share of the pork barrel.
