Jonathan Yabut “The Apprentice Asia” Winner Defeats Andrea Loh

Jonathan Yabut, the Filipino contestant of “The Apprentice Asia” was declared as the winner of the first-ever edition of the Donald Trump original US series, The Apprentice. He bested fellow finalist Andrea Loh Ern-Yu as announced on Wednesday night, July 31 over AXN.

The lone Filipino finalist of the competition after his fellow Pinoy Celina Le Neindre failed to make it to the final battle. Yabut is a former Management Trainee of Globe Telecom and most recently a senior product manager of GlaxoSmithKline Philippines. He bested a total of 11 contenders from 7 countries in Asia.

Jonathan Yabut showed his Filipino spirits during the entire competition by pinning the Philippine flag on his suit. During the charity event as seen in this week’s final episode, he even got to wear a Barong Tagalog.

In the final episode of “The Apprentice Asia, Yabut become the “First Asian Apprentice.” The show’s mogul, AirAsia’s Tony Fernandes hired and welcomed Jonathan Yabut during the finals. The UP graduate convinced the AirAsia executive to choose him against the Singaporean finalist although Fernandes admitted that before the finals he had already chosen his winner Andrea but he changed his mind after hearing Yabut’s argument and determination.
