Cagayan de Oro City: Most Competitive City in the Philippines List

Cagayan de Oro City is the Philippines’ most competitive city in 2012 according to the National Competitive Council (NCC). Aside from CDO, making the top four cities were Iloilo City, San Fernando City in Pampanga, Butuan City and Bacolod City.

The report made by the NCC cited Cagayan de Oro’s achievement using the three indicators: economic dynamism, government efficiency and infrastructure. Before the list of competitive cities were revealed there were speculations that big cities such as Cebu City, Davao City, Makati City or any NCR cities will top the list.

According to Guillermo Luz, NCC private sector chairman, said the rankings can be used by investors when picking their business location. The NCC chairman added further that the Cities of Makati, Cebu and Davao were not included in the list due to lack of data that would measure their competitiveness.
