Greg Slaughter to Enter PBA Draft this November 2013

Former Cebuano stalwart and current member of the Gilas Pilas pool, Greg Slaughter confirmed that he will enter the PBA draft this coming November 2013. The 7-footer, Greg told InterAKTV in an exclusive interview that he will make his next step.

Greg Slaughter was quoted as saying that, “Yeah, that’s the next step,” he adds further that, “After FIBA Asia, I’m going to apply for the PBA draft. That would be in November so that is still days ahead.” Slaughter stated.

The 25-year-old Greg Slaughter started his basketball career at the University of the Visayas (UV) in Cebu and later transferred to Ateneo, helping the Blue Eagles win back-to-back UAAP titles. He was also part of the Smart-Gilas Pilipinas national team under coach Rajko Toroman.

Greg Slaughter joined the NLEX in the PBA D-League last October, helping the Road Warriors win the Aspirants Cup in February. He was also part of the gold medal team, Sinag Pilipinas during the 2011 SEABA and the Southeast Asian Games 2011.

Slaughter is tabbed as a potential No. 1 overall pick along with former NLEX teammate Ian Sangalang. He will surely play against or alongside his former Cebu rival, Junmar Fajardo who played for the University of Cebu, (UC) during their early days in basketball.
