Former actress Assunta da Rosi and current wife of re-electionist congressman Jules Ledesma are now staging one of the “largest philanthropic bequest” in the Philippines as they are donating 60 percent of their wealth to the workers of their Hacienda in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental.
The 32-year-old actress, confirmed through Yahoo! Philippines OMG!, that their multi-million philanthropic deed will make millionaires out of their over a thousand workers.
Assunta was quoted as saying that, “This our own version of the CARP (Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program) and we really hope it will succeed. Because if it doesn’t succeed, wala ngang susunod pa [na land owners],” Assunta said.
Although they will give 60% of their wealth to their workers, the Ledesma family who will have 40 percent left of the Ledesma Group of Companies, will still run the hacienda for their workers.
