The Philippine Weather Bureau, PAG-ASA declared that the low pressure are (LPA) estimated east of Surigao City has developed into a tropical depression and named as “Emong”.
According to PAG-ASA’s 5:00 PM bulletin issued on Sunday, June 16, stated that the center of Tropical Depression Emong was estimated at 370 kilometers east of Catarman, Northern Samar as of 4:00 PM on Sunday.
“Emong” has a packing maximum sustained winds of 45 kilometers per hour near the center and was moving north northwest at 9 kilometers per hour, PAG-ASA reported.
PAG-ASA (–foul word(s) removed–)ured that Emong is still far to directly affect any part of the country, however, it will bring moderate to occasionally heavy rains and thunderstorms. The Tropical Depression is also expected to intensify within the next 24-48 hours.
