The Philippine National Football Team successfully defeated HongKong National Football Team with the final score at 1-nil and proved that they were indeed in a more versatile team if the FIFA rankings are to look up to.
The lone goal from the Azkals came from James Younghusband through a header from a slightly deflected attempt by Stephan Schrock at around 33rd minutes of the game.
The historic win by the Philippines is its first against Southeast Asian former powerhouse, HongKong. Fulham goalkeeper Neil Etheridge also showed his experience during the match as he saved a crucial free kick from Chan Siu Ki aside from his superb defending until the end of the game saving crucial attacks by HongKong.
