Chris Tiu: New Three Point King in 2013 PBA All Star Weekend

Rain or Shine rookie Chris Tiu clinched one of the much-coveted crown as he was name as the new three-point king in the Philippine Basketball (–foul word(s) removed–)ociation. Tiu defeated KG Canaleta of Air21 and JVee Casio of Alaska in the finals of the competition.

The former Gilas standout, Chris Tiu, became the first rookie since Jimmy Alapag won the three-point contest a few years ago. According to Tiu, during the morning he took time to practice his shooting prowess and his effort proved to be useful.

During an interview with InterAKTV Chris Tiu stated that he was lucky enough because he was able to met his former teammate, Miggy Solitario, the coach of Ateneo de Davao high school team who invited him to speak for the players. It was also during the time when his producer on his TV segment Tiu-torials, so he has all the time for practice shooting.

During the elimination round, Chris Tiu scored with 17 points and has a good start which also gave him plenty of confidence. Tiu got the backing also from the crown who was cheering him. He was able to overcome Canaleta’s 18-point output in the finals.

Chris Tiu was able to scored a total of 21 points in the finals, and was awarded with the title as the New Three Point King of the PBA in the All Star Weekend held at Digos, Davao del Sur.
