Western Visayas Colleges Planning to Increase Tuition Fees

The Commission on Higher Education have already received a total of thirty-eight colleges and universities in the Western Visayas who are planning to increase their tuition and other other fees in the Academic Year 2013-2014.

As of March 5, 2013, there are 17 schools in Negros Occidental who have submitted letters of intent to CHED disclosing plans to raise fees, 16 in Iloilo, 2 each in Aklan and Antique and 1 in Capiz.

Negros Occidental:

  2. Bago City College
  3. Binalbagan Catholic College
  4. Cabarrus Catholic College
  5. Colegio de Santa Rita
  6. Colegio de Santa Rita-Victorias
  7. Kabankalan Catholic College
  8. La Consolacion College
  9. La Consolacion College-Isabela
  10. Mount Carmel College
  11. Southland College
  12. STI College-Bacolod
  13. Riverside College
  14. University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos
  15. University of St. La Salle
  16. VMA Global College
  17. West Negros University.

Iloilo List of Colleges:

  1. ABE International Business College
  2. ACLC College
  3. AMA Computer College-Iloilo
  4. Cabalum Western College
  5. Central Philippine University
  6. Colegio del Sagrado Corazon de Jesus

Various groups in Western Visayas particularly the Kabataan and the League of Filipino Students launched a tuition-monitor desk to receive reports from students, parents, and other concerned parties on tuition increases in the region.
