COMELEC Launches Election Awareness Website (Video)

The Commission on Elections (COMELEC) launched their new election awareness website as they take their fight against election campaign violators to the Internet.

The Philippine-Election governing body launched the website www.mycomelec.tv, just before the official star of the May 2013 election campaign period. The site contains the rules and regulations for political advertisements, ways people can report potential violators, request for a demonstration of the precinct count optical scan (PCOS) machines, and a photo gallery of prohibited propaganda materials.

The COMELEC Chairman Sixto Brillantes had urged the public to come to them and report any poll campaign violations. There is also a page on the website which is dedicated entirely for the rules and regulations during the election campaign.

The social media profile of the COMELEC is now available also, Twitter users can give their reports to Comelec using the handle @Comelec and the hashtag #SumbongKo. Facebook users can visit the FB Page/PCOSdemo2013 to get updates on Comelec’s schedule for its live public demonstration on how to vote with the PCOS machines.
