Filipino Tennis Player, Cecil Mamiit was one of the few individuals who were given credit by current world number 1 Tennis Player Maria Sharapova after her conquest of the 2012 French Open Womens Championship defeating Sarra Errani in the finals at Roland Garros Estade.
The French Open is one of the four major grand slam tournaments in tennis, it is more popularly known as Roland Garros named after the French aviator with the same name. It is the only major tournament that is played on clay court.
The Russian number 1 ranked Tennis player, Maria Sharapova was so thankful with the help of her team, one of them was the Filipino Cecil Mamiit, the team captain of the Philippine National Tennis Team.
Cecil Mamiit was one of the serving partner of the 25-year-old Maria Sharapova, one of the most recognized Tennis player in the world. She also modeled different high-end brands with worldwide circulation.
The Filipino Tennis player was being recognized by Maria Sharapova stating that Cecil joined her team again this year after he left earlier for his commitment with the Philippine National Team.
In an interview, the Filipino tennis player Cecil Mamiit was also grateful with the recognition received from Sharapova. He was quoted as saying that “It has been a privilege and honor to work with Maria and her team,” said Mamiit. “Maria is a true professional; a dedicated and talented athlete.” Mamiit stated.
